Have you ever heard this term? I love how it rhymes. It refers to ditching cleaning products, candles, make-up and other products that might bring toxins into your house and switching them out for natural non-toxic products. A few of us gathered here at my house to make some great products to clean our house using YL Thieves Household cleaner, and a great spray using oils. Boy did we have fun!
We started with an easy room spray that will evoke thoughts of cozy, cool nights, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch.
This recipe can be used for any combination of scents, but since its just after the fall equinox here we went with a pumpkin spice highlight.
Here, I need to say that this is not my recipe, nor my photo. I found this last year before I started this blog, and if I knew who to credit to this I’d definitely do so. Unfortunately, last year this blog wasn’t even a blip on my radar and I didn’t think to note where I found it. My apologies to the author, and my thanks – as it is a wonderful smell to have in the house!
The general recipe for a room freshener is:
* a 4 oz spray bottle, either glass or oil safe plastic
* water, in this case filtered or distilled is best
* a pinch of salt
* 15-20 drops total of various oils
First add the salt to the spray bottle, then add the oils on top of the salt. My understanding of using the salt is that it helps to mix the oils before they float on/in the water. Then add the water, and “shake like the dickens!”.

Had lots of making making this spray! It smells awesome and is the perfect “fall/autumn” spray without making spiced apple cider/sauce or pumpkin pie – though that sounds pretty good too, just too much work to make regularly! haha 🙂

I agree! This spray is WAY easier than making a pie. Hope to see you at the October class about healthy skin.
