In the moment. Its a great place to be. Not worrying about what is coming or what has past. Both these oils have a magical way of pulling my attention from whatever is distracting me to be able to be present now.
Frankincense and palo santo are both wood oils and complement each other well. In fact, the two trees are from the same botanical family, Burseraceae. Historically, both have been used for spiritual rituals. Palo santo is typically used for smudging.
Palo santo is a wild tree native from the Yucatán Peninsula to Peru and Venezuela, and has a deep and rich history within North and South America. Historically South American indigenous people used palo santo in the same manner Native Americans used white sage. The scent is rich, slightly citrus, a bit herbaous like a balsam tree.
I learned a new fact from a really interesting website called ViennaImports that dead wood improves with age, and is more fragrant and has more of the wanted chemical properties than fresh harvested wood.
And – Young Living has their own blog post on palo santo here; there’s lots of good ideas on this oil on their post.
How do you stay In The Moment?
