Chinese medicine uses frankincense for its anti-bacterial properties, and Egyptians used it in the mummification process.  Many Christian churches use it in their religious ceremonies.  It is used in many high-end expensive face creams because it is known to help reduce wrinkles and improve skin appearance. Vogue recently had an article on ways to use frankincense for skin purposes. https://www.vogue.com.au/beauty/skin/the-surprising-beauty-benefits-of-frankincense-oil/news-story/2dd732d9e485802248d53002bf2c9831

Recently a friend mentioned she had an unusually bad flare up of eczema.  I occasionally get small patches of it on my hands during winter.  I was able to whip up a quick hand cream/lotion for her using frankincense, lavender, copaiba, and geranium.  This combination, heavy on the frankincense oil, is perfect for these kind of flare ups.  Mine disappear with days of using the cream 2 or 3 times a day.  Its nice to know I can take care of the flare ups right away, almost instantly by having my oils on hand.

This coming week (on October 15th) I’m hosting a ‘spa’ class at my house where we’ll make facial products using lavender and frankincense.  I’m looking forward to showing people how easy it is to make up natural products that support healthy skin.
