Wintergreen has a strong aroma, and was used in a tea by American Indians along with birch bark. We use wintergreen for muscle aches and when I have gout like issues. It can be used as an analgesic, IF you get a high quality wintergreen oil. One of the constituents of this oil is salicylate, which can have analgesic properties.
