Combinations in my diffuser on any given day…
and sometimes a few musings.

Today I needed a little kick in the pants to get back to studying. I’m in the final stretch of the DAR Genealogical Education Program (GEP) and this is the toughest of the three. I wanted something bright, but not too citrus-y, so I grabbed my tangerine and added a bit of geranium for some spring-like scents. What’s in your diffuser?
4 drops tangerine, 6 drops geranium

Candles, I used to LOVE them. I used candles to create scents in my house, till Bubs was diagnosed with asthma. His pedi suggested getting rid of all the candles. Citrus & Sage was my favorite, and I said good bye to it. Today I mixed up my own C&S blend and its so soothing! Try it out and let me know what you think.

4 drops sage, 3 drops bergamot, 2 drops citrus fresh, 1 drop marjarom

This week has been the week that the adults fell under the wellness line. AKA we all have a head cold. Thankfully with this oily lifestyle our colds last less time than in the past. We’re on the last legs of this cold, where we are coughing and hacking. So today in the diffuser is pine, eucalyptus, and tea tree. I’ve found that this combination is what helps us get past the coughing stage the fastest.

3 drops each of pine, eucalyptus and tea tree.

Today started with me being kneed in the stomach as I lay sleeping. NOT the best start, in my opinion. I was cranky for a bit till I looked outside and saw that it was BRIGHT SUNNY AND NOT FREEZING!! HUZZAH! I wanted to bring that sunny feeling into the diffuser today so I used grapefruit and sage. The sage gives the scent an earthy grounding feeling while the graprfruit brings in the sweetness of citrus and sunshine. Try it out and see!

4 drops of grapefruit, 2 drops of sage (2 to 1 ratio)

Today started gray cloudy and rainy, but turned into a bright sunshine-y day! The perfect day for a little thieves and stress away! The vanilla in the stress away mixes perfectly with the clove and cinnamon in the thieves.

3 drops of thieves, 2 drops of stress away – ahhhhh.

After an amazing weekend of perfect fall weather, today is chilly, rainy and really overcast. All I really want to do is build a fire in the fireplace, grab a blankie and a book and snuggle with the kiddo. But he’s at school, and I have a genealogy class to finish up. I was out of inspiration so I looked up a diffuser recipe from my friend Kari of Global Wellness with Essential Oils. This scent is THE BOMB; its absolutely perfect for today. Try it out!

If you have a hard time seeing the pic, the recipe is below. Increase the drops if you want a stronger scent, but keep the same ratios (or not). I added a drop of orange to lift the scent a bit.

1 drop of frankincense, 2 drops patchouli, and 3 cedarwood

A bit chilly today, the first day its has REALLY felt like fall. My LO chose cedar wood and cypress, and I added pepper and evergreen to spice it up. When it gets colder I trend to pine and wood scents.

2 drops each of black pepper, cedar wood, cypress, and evergreen essence

The next few weeks it will be Thieves all the time here. The back to school sniffles have started. Thieves oil is pretty versatile, adding other oils can mask the scent or enhance it. Today’s blend is one that builds on the spicy notes of thieves and adds in citrus and pine.

2 drops each of citrus fresh, lime, tsuga, and 5 drops of thieves
