I never thought I’d get a bottle of rose oil. Everyone raved about it, but damn its expensive! Why?

Rose essential oil has a rich, aroma that’s just as beautiful as the bloom itself. Each 5 ml bottle requires 22 pounds of rose petals, which equates to about 10, 000 flowers.

The whole production process is labor-intensive. Most harvests are done by hand, typically in the morning before sunrise. The heat of the sun signals the plant to reserve the components that create the oil.

YL uses a two-step, steam distilling to extract the oil from the petals, usually same day as the plant is harvested. This tiny bottle has 22 lbs of hand picked rose petals in it. And it is totally worth all the dough spent on obtaining it.

The scent is AMAZING. Like having a bouquet of fresh roses ALL THE TIME. The healing properties of rose oil have been mentioned throughout history and the scent brings balance and harmony to almost everyone.

In my house I use it in all my homemade skin care products. In my healing salve with Melrose oil to act as a ‘Neosporin’ substitute, in my cuticle cream to strengthen my fingernails, and I add two or 3 drops to my container of Seedlings hand lotion to help make my hands look young again.

And I didn’t pay for my rose oil. Well….not with money. YL has a system where you can earn points for every wellness box you get. I saved up these points over the course of about 6 months and got my rose oil FOR FREE(ish). And I LOVE IT. I understand why everyone raves about it. So…save your points friends…and splurge on a bottle as soon as you can. You will not regret it.

Update – at the time I got my rose oil, I could use points for it. As of this writing, using points is not an option. Maybe again soon? We’ll see.
